Why Participate? …Why be Involved?

As Citizens we have the right and the responsibility to cast our votes and participate in the governing of our communities. Every election affects each of us. The policies developed and implemented by those we elect impact us every day.

Vote LogoThe VOTE! campaign is designed to give each of us an opportunity to participate in the process. Each contribution, be it of time, talent or ideas, is an important component in making the voting and election processes user friendly and accessible to all citizens.

We invite you to be part of a non-partisan, statewide voter empowerment campaign to organize the disability community to be an important force in the political and policy process. By joining the VOTE! Campaign you will become a member of a group of Tennesseans who can no longer be ignored by our elected officials. Together we can:

  • Increase the number of people with disabilities and their supporters who are registered and who vote.

  • Decrease/eliminate barriers to voting for people with disabilities, including policy barriers, access barriers, and social and practical barriers.

  • Establish a statewide network of local, grassroots VOTE! Committees that can work on registration, poll access, get-out-the-vote (GOTV), issue advocacy, and election campaigns in their own communities.

  • Provide broad-based and targeted voter education on both the voting process and disability related issues.

With the support of the Coalition staff and board, the most important work is being done by local communities all over the state. They are trained and supported with tools and resources to conduct training, recruit others, and to implement VOTE! action plans in local communities.

If you have any questions, requests for information, support or guidance related to voting and the VOTE! Campaign then contact Todd Hash at (615) 383-9442.
